Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 April 2026. By using ShiftPlanning you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The service

ShiftPlanning ("the Service") is a free, browser-based shift-scheduling tool provided at shift-planning.com. The Service helps you produce employee shift schedules from configuration you provide. It runs entirely in your browser; no account is required.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, and non-infringement.

Schedules generated by the algorithm are produced using the inputs you supply. They have not been reviewed for compliance with any specific labour law, industry regulation, or collective agreement. You are responsible for verifying that any schedule you publish meets your legal and contractual obligations.

Your data

Everything you enter into the tool — employee names, skills, shift definitions, leave requests, and the resulting schedule — stays in your browser and the files you choose to download. We do not store your data on a server and we have no ability to retrieve, restore, or share it on your behalf.

You retain full ownership of every input and every output produced by the tool. The Excel files generated by the Service are yours to use, modify, redistribute, or commercialise without restriction from us.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Process information about other people in a way that breaches their privacy or workplace rights.
  • Attempt to disrupt, deface, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems hosting it.
  • Automate scraping, repeated downloading, or abusive load against the site.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShiftPlanning and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service. This includes losses arising from a schedule that, in retrospect, you believe was incorrect or unfair.

Because the Service is provided free of charge, no refund or compensation is available for downtime, errors, or feature changes.

Advertising

The Service is supported by Google AdSense advertising. By using the site you acknowledge that ads are displayed and that, as described in our Privacy Policy, Google may set cookies in your browser for advertising purposes.

Third-party links

The site may link to third-party resources, articles, or services for your reference. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, terms, or availability.

Changes to the Service and these terms

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also revise these terms; the revised version becomes effective when posted on this page, and continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date.
